Cells in Rebellion

Somewhere along the line your cells get a mind of their own. They set up a colony on the top of your skull that manifests itself as a lump. They bunch up in your fingernails and toenails, making them so thick you can’t get clippers around them. They pop out brown spots on your skin. They drop translucent curtains over your eyes that make colors fade. They lock up your knee joints and take the joy out of tennis. They rewire your brain so that you forget the names of your grandchildren.

But it goes deeper. Inside each cell molecules are struggling to contain atoms that have grown restless living in bondage to your whims. The whole thing is coming unglued.

Neutrinos glide thru the chaos of your unraveling existence and on into outer space, heading for a distant star.
