A Heart Pumping Blood

The crumbs
of neglect.

The crimes
of emotion.

The lashes
of progress.

Small children
huddled on
the dark
side of
the footlights,
clutching their
ticket stubs.

The geek
glare of
fame the
bizarre names
we lay
on it.

Pull the
plug &
it all
grinds into
blackness,
witch hunts
& moans.

Anything beyond
a heart
pumping blood
is deception.
