Resting Easy

Grim reality
hosed-down
reality
virtual
reality
bogus
reality
common-good
reality
fabricated
reality which
is not the
same as
bogus reality
half-baked
reality
slipshod
reality which
is the
same as
half-baked
reality
reality on
the half
shell pretty
girl in a
John Lennon
hat reality,
gateway to
fantasy.

Nose-bleed
reality
broken dreams
reality
hemorrhaged
reality
the real
thing the
full-meal
deal reality,
wide open
spaces
close confines.

Any way
you
cut it
any way
you go
there it
is staring
you in
the face
like a
frozen
Cheshire Cat,
all the
things we
call real,
blotches on
the finite
blotches on
the infinite,
absorbed
into the
constant equation.

Anything you
know is
diminished by
context
& then
disappears.
This is
the key
to the
invisible
door with
no lock.

Why can’t
we simply
rest easy?
