Bright Bright Sunshiny Day

A ray
of sunshine
slices thru
a week
of gray
like a
lightning bolt
& your
mind erupts
with bright
angels in
red dresses
blowing
trumpets.

Your chest
swells &
your eyes
sparkle like
sugarplums.

You march
into the
day mad
with joy
singing praise
to miracles.

You dance
around obstacles
disguised as
people striking
poses,
the residue
of the
gray that’s
gone before,
harbingers of
all the
gray that’s
yet to
come.

You don’t
so much
as tip
your hat
to them.

Momentum is
the only
cleansing.
