The average
child learns
to speak
a language
by the
age of
two just
by listening.


II.

Two kids talking to each other using two tin cans with string stretched taut between them.

One of the kids says, “Hey, wouldn’t it be cool if we could stretch string all over the world and talk to anyone we wanted to!”

The significance of the second example may elude some people with a highly institutionalized education, which is my third example.
