Squeezing Life

I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t have a firm grasp on things.

I’ll be the first to admit that I like it that way.

I prefer to watch things float and dance on the wind.

A thing firmly grasped is possessed and no longer itself. Neither is the possessor. It’s an awkward bonding that chains the soul.

But not having a firm grasp on things can lead to trouble. If you’re spotted, in come the adjusters to set matters right. They place things in your hands, things both beautiful and ugly, and they wait to see what you do.

If you do not have a firm grasp, they keep you for another day.

If you keep it up longer than that, they make you disappear.
