Cultural Meltdown

There goes the walrus,
flapping over the crosswalk.

Here comes Linus,
shrouded in a blanket.

There’s that bitch
Mother Nature,
insisting you
vacate your
bowels on a
crowded cross-town bus.

There’s your old
gym teacher,
making moves on the
deaf dumb &
blind kid.

There’s Uncle Tom
with a dial phone,
trying to
communicate.

Here you are
with your
roll-your-owns,
a freak of nature
leading a
hush-hush existence.

There’s the
clock in the
tower, inching
closer to midnight.

Gong! &
out come the
wind-up toys
to wage war on
the future
