Teaching Boys to Be Men
They’ve got a thing going down on the rodeo arena where they stake a small goat on a short tether and then a boy on horseback comes thundering in from about a hundred yards out, jumps off his horse, flips the goat over on its back and hogties it.
They do this one after another until the goat is injured or too stunned to stay on its feet, and then they bring in a fresh goat.
This teaches boys to be men in a society I want less and less to do with.
