Compassion’s Key
Realizing that
no one
is who
they think
they are
is the
key to
compassion.

Stating the
obvious is
never a
good idea
which if
you live
long enough
leads to
silence.

There are
currently six
talented people
who lend
hands-on
support to
my writing.
Sort of
like pallbearers.

I’ve got
all my
bases covered,
first &
second with
blind Sherpas,
third &
home plate
with
deep-sea
divers with
the bends.

Pesky rectitude.
Hyenas with
pink eye.
A full
moon &
a monolith.
A big
surprise
& a
shallow grave.
Tumbling
tumbleweed.
Bibles
scarred with
pink markers.
Saints under
neon, insects
zapped in
their halos.
A commercial-
stitched culture.
It all started
somewhere &
took off
like a
bumblebee.
Stick your
hand in
the honey
pot &
see how
good
it feels.
Wait til
the coast
is clear
then point
your finger
when the
sun comes up.
Flawless,
that’s
the ticket.
It will
turn you
invisible.
What is
it you’re
hanging
on to
when it
all vanishes
anyway?
Put a
lid on
it &
sell it
for jellybeans.
