It’s a
hard way
to finish
up my
writing days,
submerged
in a
deluge of
lame-brains
furiously
pounding away
on their
like/dislike
buttons.

There’s nothing
left I
can do
for anyone.
There probably
wasn’t anything
I could
do to
begin with.

I’ve got
a cell
phone that’s
just a
phone a
computer
I use
mostly for
email &
two vehicles
from the
last century.
Just enough
technology
& conveyance
to wend
my way
thru the
horror show.

I’ve taken
to leaving
copies of
Shard chap
books all
over town
on benches
in bars
& in
restaurants.
So far
the only
impact I’ve
noticed is
the police
department has
doubled its
foot patrols.

The reason
Foxcatcher,
probably the
best movie
of 2014,
didn’t sweep
the Academy
Awards is
it casts
the Du
Pont family,
the richest
family in
America,
in a
bad light.

Over the
years something
inside of
me has
recoiled from
everything
they’ve shoved
in my
face as
the way
to go.
