the mid
60s when
I dropped
out of
the University
of Munich
started Vagabond
Press &
wrote The
Night of
the Great
Butcher my
life has
been a
secret
ongoing myth,
much
of it
played out
in this
high-mountain
valley.
I look
out over
the valley
from my
hilltop
at the
end
of a
fall day
with a
growing sense
of finality
& bruised
accomplishment.
