the meaning of everything

The Meaning of Everything

Left to
his own
devices he
would have
changed the
meaning of
everything
so he
was kept
under close
surveillance
by a
rotating
committee of
Lilliputians.

having a say in things

Having a Say in Things

Everything
changes
with time.

The color
of the
rose the
tribute due
Caesar a
mother’s love.

Then again,
nothing changes.

It’s because
we think
in sweeping
generalizations
that we
think things
change.

We think
things change
because we
don’t want
them to
change &
nothing ever
turns out
like we
want it to.

Don’t panic.

Don’t swallow
the peach
pit of
contradiction.

Don’t suck
up your
confusion like
fresh-spun
cotton-candy.

Think of
the smallest
unit of
conceivable time.

Think of
the smallest
unit of
inconceivable time.

Think of
a unit
of time
smaller still.

If you’ve
been successful
you’ve arrived
at eternity
where time
does
not exist.

Your problem
is you
think you
have a
say in
the matter.

rejection & consequence

Rejection & Consequence

“Words are
like lightning
rods that
keep my
mind from
getting scorched…”

That’s what
he wrote
on his
application as
his reason
for wanting
to study
creative writing,
sent to
96 creative
writing programs
in the
U.S.
Canada &
Australia.

He got
rejected by
all of
them even
tho he
was a
straight-A
student &
editor of
his high
school paper.

He graduated
with honors
& dropped
out of
sight.

No one
made the
connection when
ten years
later the
first-born
of the
heads of
all those
programs
were found
tied to
lightning
rods on
the tops
of barns,
the hair
scorched off
their heads.

stopping the borg

Stopping the Borg

Evolving into
a digital
universe is
not the
next phase
of human
evolution, it’s
the termination
of human
evolution.

Sabotage the
Borg,
if you’re
man enough.

hiding under their nose

Hiding Under Their Nose

I’m in
the digital
world’s waiting
room,
thumbing thru
magazines &
pretending
I have
an appointment.
