Calling Out the National Guard
Ours is
just one
universe in
an infinite
array of
universes that
the Ultimate
Consciousness
hasn’t chosen
to collapse
yet.
When it
happens there
won’t even
be time
to call
out the
National Guard.

Ours is
just one
universe in
an infinite
array of
universes that
the Ultimate
Consciousness
hasn’t chosen
to collapse
yet.
When it
happens there
won’t even
be time
to call
out the
National Guard.

Someone suggested
I google
a bunch
of images
& then
write Shards
about them
instead of
tagging images
on after
I write
the Shards
& I
said no,
I can’t
do that,
it’s too
deliberate,
too much
like an
exercise,
& he
said what’s
wrong with
that &
I said
everything
& he
said the
images could
be your
inspiration
& I said
inspiration
doesn’t work
like that,
it comes
out of
the blue
& smacks
you in
the face,
& he
said well
whatever then,
not realizing
he’d become
an inspiration;
me either
until
just now.

To be
young is
to live
in the
lap of
eternity.

uh-oh!
1-2-3!
my great
grandson says
when he’s
in a
tight spot.
Twenty months
old &
already seeing
too much.

My crew
& I
cleaned the
windows of
the old
couple in
their 90s
with the
diamond-shaped
glass &
when we
were done
the old
guy &
I whipped
out our
harmonicas &
knocked out
some songs.
We finished
up with
Amazing Grace,
his wife
pulling herself
out of
her easy
chair &
singing along.
